Church Building Fundraising Seminars

Parker Architects offers a workshop style seminar for churches considering a building project. The seminar is based on our book,”Money and Buildings”, and is co-hosted by the authors, Ben Harder of  Harder and Associates and David Parker of Parker Architects, to assist churches in fundraising and building design.

We offer these seminars in the spring & fall seasons at specific dates and locations. We also understand the difficulty in being able to organize members of a building committee for a specific date. Because of this, we are now offering churches the opportunity to have the workshop presented at the time and location of their choosing. You are now able to have this seminar presented at your church  for all members interested in attending. You will find this workshop to be a treasure trove of information about church financing, fund raising and architectural rules of thumb and do’s & don’ts. The format provides you the opportunity to discuss questions pertaining to your church’s specific needs. Past attendees have expressed their thanks for the timely information and felt encouraged to commence on the often daunting prospect of a major building project.

Contact us if you are interested in attending or arranging for a workshop at your church.

Please provide details of the next seminar. Knox Oakville Presbyterian Church is considering a significant renovation project.

      Hi Duncan,

Sorry about the delay in responding to your question. We currently are not offering the seminar for any set dates. Instead we will meet with your church/committee and present it one on one. The advantage of this is that you get our total attention and can ask specific questions related to your specific church needs. Our seminar consists of two components Financial and Architectural and so requires myself and our financial consultant for the presentation. As a start, I would suggest that I meet with you to go over the information and to answer any specific questions that I can. If after this meeting you feel your group would benefit from a full seminar presentation then we will make the necessary arrangements. It’s exciting to hear that Knox is considering a significant renovation. I along with my family are members of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian in Niagara-on-the-Lake and my wife sits on the board of elders. Our firm was responsible for the extensive renovations and addition to Chippawa Presbyterian Church recently and I am sure Rev. Doug Shonberg would be happy to provide a reference for our work. (

      Thanks for contacting us.

      David Parker
